Stephanie Heywood is the trainer at the Mayfield Medical Centre in Farnborough, Hampshire.The practice moved into brand new spacious, purpose -built premises in 2003. At present there are 5  GP partners and 3 part-time salaried GPs. Christine Marshall, one of the partners, is a Programme Director for the Frimley VTS. 

                                                                                                                                                     We have a full complement of attached staff including district nurses, health visitor and midwife. There is in-house counselling and clinics are held by a visiting dietician and consultant psychiatrist. The practice is fully computerised [Vision].

 

The practice area is compact and covers a mix of private and social housing with some areas of deprivation. The list size is 8000 and still growing. The population is predominantly young but we do have some nursing home patients.

 

There is a consulting room for the exclusive use of the registrar with a PC with internet access. There is a practice library and all members of the practice team are keen to support GP training. We are situated close to Frimley Park Hospital where there is an excellent post graduate centre and the VTS course is held.
